John Terry, a Chelsea legend, believes Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane should join Real Madrid.
Chelsea legend John Terry believes Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane could join a club of Real Madrid’s stature.
The 29-year-old striker has 261 goals in 408 games for Spurs across all competitions. Despite reaching the final on four occasions, he has yet to win a trophy with us or the England national team.
He lost the League Cup finals in 2015 and 2021, and he also lost the 2019 UEFA Champions League final to Liverpool. He was also a key member of the Three Lions squad that was eliminated in the final round of the 2020 UEFA European Championship.
Terry, who knows a thing or two about winning trophies, has backed Kane’s decision to leave Spurs for a team that can provide him with trophies. He stated to beIN Sports (via the Metro):
“I think Harry Kane wants to go and win trophies – he’s not going to do that at Tottenham, is he?” Let’s be real. He clearly isn’t. Let us be completely honest with ourselves. He’s one of the world’s best strikers. He aspires to win trophies. He aspires to play for the best and most powerful teams.”
When asked if he could see Tottenham’s centre-forward joining a club like Real Madrid, the 2012 UEFA Champions League winner responded:
“I noticed it.”
It remains to be seen whether manager Carlo Ancelotti will ever make Kane a transfer target, especially given the recent injuries to 34-year-old Karim Benzema. However, Bayern Munich has been heavily linked with him.

Terry is correct that there are teams that can provide Kane with a better chance of winning trophies, but Kane will also understand that winning a title with his boyhood club will be far more satisfying. That’s possibly why, at the height of his powers, he signed a six-year contract in the summer of 2018.
That length of contract wouldn’t make sense if he wasn’t sure about his future at N17. He came close to joining Manchester City last year, but a player in his 30s would be enticed to join a team that almost always wins the Premier League.

Morocco’s Hakim Ziyech, a Tottenham Hotspur summer target, has not ruled out leaving Chelsea in January.
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan and Netherlands right-back Denzel Dumfries.
Tottenham is competing with Arsenal and Chelsea for Villarreal starlet Yeremy Pino.
He’s here, and that’s all that matters for the time being. Given his talent and pedigree, there will be teams interested in him. Our primary goal should be to get him back from the FIFA World Cup without any injuries before sitting down and seriously discussing extending his current contract.
