Tottenham’s January transfer window: a step in the right direction?

Another transfer window closed, another step closer to competing with the Premier League’s behemoths. Antonio Conte would have us believe otherwise.
While Tottenham have surpassed Liverpool and Chelsea this season, they are now trailing Manchester United and Newcastle. Worse, they are 14 points behind north London rivals Arsenal.
Spurs’ priorities for the January transfer window, according to football.london, were a new right wing-back and an attacking player. They delivered on that promise. Beating Everton to Arnaut Danjuma and finally landing Pedro Porro was the bare minimum that could be expected from the window.

But perhaps it’s not all about the new arrivals, with the retention of a certain England striker still something to be thankful for at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
