In the summer transfer window, West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are expected to compete for Wolves forward Adama Traore. According to a report from The Express & Star, the Hammers are now competing with Tottenham for the services of the talented Wolves ace this summer. READ… West Ham has a terrific chance to sign the ‘electric’ Inter Milan star for just £19 million. It was announced yesterday that Adama will cost under £10 million this summer. Sterling’s signing for Chelsea is a perfect 10! Ranking This Summer’s Top 10 Premier League Transfers! The Spanish player was actually wanted by Tottenham manager Antonio Conte in January, but he signed with Barcelona instead (ESPN). He’s now back with Wolves, though, and it’s not surprising that Spurs are interested in signing him once more given his versatility as a winger, center midfielder, or wing-back. Adama Traore competition for Tottenham comes from West Ham. According to the Midlands-based tabloid The Express & Star, both the Hammers and Spurs are interested in signing the 26-year-old Wolves star. Furthermore, we think West Ham has a significant advantage over Tottenham. All that Tottenham manager Conte will want Adama to be is a wing-back. He will never be selected by Tottenham as an attacking player before players like Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Richarlison, or Dejan Kulusevski. He will thus have to compete with Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal for the position of right wing-back. It is obvious that he would have numerous challenges on his way to playing regularly for Tottenham’s first team. The road is a little bit clearer at West Ham in the meanwhile. Traore would be signed as an attacker because David Moyes frequently utilizes a four-man defense. He could play out wide on the left or compete with Michail Antonio in the centre. At the London Stadium, the Wolves star would undoubtedly have more opportunities to play frequently than he would at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. He has been described as ‘explosive’ by football scouting website Breaking The Lines whilst talkSPORT have also raved about his explosive pace. When he is on, the 26-year-old Wolves star is an exhilarating winger. He possesses blistering pace and is strong as an ox. The fleet-footed attacker is a very exciting talent on his day. And if Moyes wants to sign him, we will back the Scot’s decision. He hasn’t got many wrong has he? With Andriy Yarmolenko gone, the Hammers definitely need to strengthen in the wide attacking department. And we believe that West Ham will be better placed than Tottenham to sign Adama Traore from Wolves this summer.
